Me at The Fashion Summit

Kristina O’Connor, founder of Store Society, tells us how The Drapers/WGSN Fashion Summit was for her.
Surrounded by the buzzing from Blackberrys at the bottom of Balenciaga bags, I pushed my market-bought rucksack further under my chair and wondered if anyone could tell that my dress was last season.
I soon forgot my worries as I found myself enthralled in the interviews and panel discussions given by people who were just as passionate about fashion and business as I am.
The day was sprinkled with fantastic speakers, entertaining moments and thought provoking discussions.
Perhaps one of the talks I enjoyed most was that given by Professor Sandy Black on the latest designs and ideas in fashion, science and technology from young designers.
I was particularly intrigued by the spray-on-clothing, dissolvable dresses and colour changing fabrics. I also relished the opportunity to hear from WGSN’s Content Director, Juliet Warketin and her trend predictions for Spring/Summer 10 (silky tees, countour panel pants and scuba dresses!)
Throughout the day I was able to meet some very interesting and inspirational people and as a young entrepreneur in the fashion business, it is not a day I will forget in a hurry.
